Pontocho brings Japan to Noobia

Posted by pontocho-sl Saturday, April 24, 2010
Noobia sim is a recreational spot for new members of Second Life to come enjoy dancing, living and learning of the program within a community of those who are willing to teach.

This week Noobia was having an exhibition in the new mall area to celebrate the cultural diversity in the sim. Representatives of each Nationality currently living in Noobia were called to contribute to this event which will be running all week and ending with a big party on Saturday. Stalls and flags were set up around the square to display items which feel best represent their country. pontocho was called as an outside force to represent Japan. With a small temae from Kokimi, she taught the guests how to do a simple tea ceremony for a friend. Afterwards Maiko Kokimi, Kosumi and Geiko Koneko demonstrated Kyomai, or the art of Kyoto dancing as well as an explanation of Kouta music and a direct translation of Gion Kouta.
