Pontocho Hanamachi SL offers authentic Japanese "zashiki" or banquets hosted by geisha and maiko hidden away in the recreational alleyway of Pontocho. Traditional forms of Japanese art such as fan dancing and performing on instruments like the koto, shamisen, and taiko drums are offered as entertainment as well as storytelling and tea ceremony.

The tea house may be rented for one to two hour performances for a fee of $500L per geisha in attendance. Geisha can also entertain at locations specified by a patron.

Geisha can also accompany a patron for a fee of $300L for social functions, dinner parties, and public events.

Tea ceremony:

If you wish to experience the Japanese tea ceremony with a real student studying chanoyu, please refer below:

Full Tea Ceremony (small group): Includes, a step by step preparation, sweets and tea. $800L (1 hour) RSVP Required

Mini Tea Ceremony (large group): Includes, lecture on the roots of tea, a step by step preparation on how to serve for a friend. $300L (30 mins) RSVP Required
